FRUIT & BEVERAGES: Fruit Farm Chooses Gas Forklifts
Recent Western Cape Business News
NOORD Agter Paarl Koelkamers, a table grape producer based in Paarl, has bought two gas 2.5 FSV47 forklifts from Eqstra’s Toyota Forklift for the loading of fruit containers and for use in their cold storage facilities.
The grape producer commented that gas forklifts were preferred due to the nature of their business which is the handling of fruits and other agricultural produce which obviously requires careful but efficient movement. The FSV47 offered the least hazardous option for Noord Agter Paarl Koelkamers who place environmental issues high on their agenda.
The 2.5 FSV47 gas powered forklift offers low-noise operation coupled with environmentally friendly components to ensure a comfortable working experience. The low noise design reduces noise by up to 5dB(A). It has excellent fork tip visibility at lift heights with an active control rear stabiliser which realises forklift stability during turns. If the operator is not positioned correctly on the forklift an operator presence sensing system will prevent load handling and travel operations. Monitoring of fuel, water temperature and hours is highlighted on an easy-to-monitor digital screen.
Noord Agter Paarl Koelkamers stated that the choice of the Toyota Gas Forklift was not just based on the competitive pricing of the machines, but also due to the good customer service and technical support that they have received from Toyota Forklift over the 16 years that they have been a Toyota Forklift customer – It is all about the quality of the product and the quality of Toyota Forklift’s customer support.
