INTERNATIONAL TRADE: Cape's Call On The Congo
Recent Western Cape Business News
THE Democratic Republic of the Congo is looking to South Africa for help in developing the food and agricultural sector of its economy and this should create new opportunities for local companies to expand their business interests in Africa.
It should also point the way for local farmers and those who provide services to agriculture to become involved in a new growth industry.
To bring business people of the two countries together, the Cape Chamber of Commerce has organised a seminar which will take place tomorrow at the Atlantic Imbizo conference centre in the Clock Tower offices in the V & A Waterfront.
They will be welcomed by the Provincial Government and the DRC Minister of Economic Affairs. There will be presentations on the cultural and legal aspects of doing business in the Congo, the agricultural and food processing opportunities, the development of organic and tunnel farming, empowering micro farmers and aqua-culture in Africa.
The seminar runs from 8.30am to 3pm. Those who would like to attend should call Denise Kolbe on 021 402 4300.
