COUNTERBALANCED diesel and electric forklift supplier, Goscor Lift Truck Company (GLTC) Western Cape, is gearing up to provide an extended service that will include offering a wider range of sectors appropriate solutions. “One such sector, for example is wine farming – an operation that has very specific requirements. We have both the experience and the product to offer them and so many others the most cost effective forklift solutions,” says GLTC Western Cape MD John Petrie.

GLTC recently expanded and upgraded its premises, which are situated in Goodwood on the Stellenbosch arterial road, midway between the N1 and N2 highways.

Petrie says that his company’s growth over the last year or so made it necessary to improve its premises in order to maintain its customer service levels.

“While many found 2009 to be challenging, we were able to grow our sales. “Top class customer service in support of our leading products is key to our success and to ensure this, our premises had to be suitably upgraded,” Petrie says.

In 2004 Petrie, with already more than 30 years experience under his belt, started Forklift and Warehouse Equipment (FWE), which made significant progress in its first five years. In early 2009, to accommodate the bur-geoning capital require-ment, Petrie joined forces with Rob Dutton, a previous Toyota Forklift director, and Goscor.

“This was a good decision. The Goscor group brings financial stability and management skills to the table and Rob is one of the most experienced men in the industry. I am confident that we are now in a position to reach our potential in this region,” Petrie says.
