ENGINEERING: Gas Chlorinators from DoseTech
Recent Western Cape Business News
LEADING dosing pump supplier DoseTech has recently signed an agreement with International Chlorinators Inc to represent their Regal range of gas chlorinators for Southern Africa. “We used to handle gas chlorinators some years ago before various manufacturers were bought up and consolidated” says Julie O’Neill, general manager for DoseTech. “Regal chlorinators complement our dosing pump range in the water treatment industry enabling us to offer a more complete supply package to contractors and endusers,” she says.
She points out that Jim Haskett, who founded Regal, was the original inventor of the vacuum regulator in 1960 and that Regal is still owned and run by his daughter, who has maintained the quality tradition of the product.
“Gas chlorination is still a very viable means of water treatment and probably the most cost effective given the ability to store concentrated chlorine for extended periods and also resulting in low usage levels due to its concentration. Potable water treatment is one application. However, treatment of water for agriculture, poultry and dairy are others areas of interest to DoseTech.”
“We already build packaged dosing plants for a wide range of industries from oil, brewing to concrete and have experience in the agriculture market through fertigation applications,” says O’Neill.
A new development from the Seybert & Rahier dosing pump manufacturer represented by DoseTech is the introduction of gas pumps which closely follow the same capacities and ratings as their liquid dosing pumps.
O’Neill says this is a spin-off from the contaminant free gas compressors for the same manufacturer. A number have already been installed in South Africa.
