BUILDING: Verni Enters Cape Flooring Market

Recent Western Cape Business News

VERNI-Speciality Construction Products, the performance flooring specialists, have recently opened a regional office in the Western Cape. With the head-office in Gauteng and another regional office in Port Elizabeth, the move into the Western Cape flooring market was a logical progression, the company says.

Verni have also taken over the future business of the recently closed Industrial Flooring Systems (IFS). Verni is already fully operational with in-house installation teams and technical specialists ready to be of service to the local market.

The taking over of IFS was seen as an opportunity, and the management of Verni was quick to capitalise on developments and effectively fill the gap in the market left by the demise of IFS.

Verni’s managing director, Vernon Botha, is upbeat about the new developments and says a new level of service and professionalism to the commercial and industrial flooring sectors in the Western Cape region will result.

Verni is unique in the local market in that we are both manufacturers and applicators – avoiding the often encountered problem of split guarantees between supplier and applicator. With ten years of history and many successful projects behind us, Verni are perfectly positioned to grow and consolidate within the flooring market of the Western Cape,” Botha says.

In addition to their existing product range, which includes acid bricking, concrete repair and polyurethane and epoxy flooring, Verni have introduced a power-floated polymer modified screed which has found a great deal of success in the commercial sector. Supaflor Poly PF screed is a highly resilient, decorative floor finish which has a cured hardness in excess of 80 mPa and a terrazzo-type appearance.

Verni offer a complete package; from design and specification to installation and commissioning, giving the customer the correct floor at the right price, with no double mark-ups. These have been the key ingredients in the success of Verni throughout the rest of South Africa, and there is no reason to believe that this recipe for success will not result in a positive metamorphosis within the local flooring market,” according to Botha.
