VENTURES: OneKey Opens Its Doors In Woodstock

Recent Western Cape Business News

OneKey Customer Solutions, an integrated customer contact solution, has opened its doors in Cape Town in new premises  at the Brickfield Centre in Woodstock.

The company already counts a number of South African financial and telecoms blue chip operations among its clients and anticipates that the new Cape Town operations will offer local companies a distinctive Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) offering under one roof. The company offers sales outsourcing, customer support services and business process outsourcing services.

The company also hopes to attract foreign clientele by taking advantage of a number of positive attributes that Cape Town offers the global market. The advantages of an off-shore base for global clients include reduced price; saving on building and infrastructure costs; large talent pool of experience agents; close business ties with the UK and other markets; and affinity with an international culture, with regards language and commercial skills.

South Africa already has a vibrant BPO industry, with around 70 operations and 80 000 people employed in contact centres and back office.  Seventy companies operate 160 call centres in Cape Town alone.

South African corporations are looking for a one-stop solution to offer a variety of BPO needs, and we believe that this operation offers a turnkey solution that will attract a number of financial, telecoms and other blue companies”, commented OneKey CEO, Steven Jowell.

South Africa offers foreign investors a business destination combining a number of ideals: the stability of a developed country, the opportunities of a vibrant, emerging market and a climate that fosters growth. There is great potential for the BPO market in Cape Town especially, and we are finding that more and more corporates are finding this too”, he continued.

The attraction of such clients to the city has a positive benefit of job creation and investment in the Mother City, along with contributing to the ongoing regeneration of the Woodstock area.

The Cape Town operation is situated in the Brickfield Centre in Woodstock, with a 793 seat, 24 hour contact centre. It services a client base ranging from financial services to telecommunications, among others. The site hosts world class telephony and IT infrastructure, training room facilities for up to 50 learners, 64 meeting rooms and over 200 indoor and outdoor agent ‘pause’ seats.
