Recent Western Cape Business News
Business and soccer will combine effortlessly at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) as the centre gears up to host the FORTUNE Global Forum 2010, the Global Icons Expotainment Experience and the rest of the international and local business community.
According to CTICC, Chief Operations Officer, Joey Pather, the FORTUNE Global Forum 2010 is an important international conference that brings together the world’s most influential people from the highest ranks of government, science and technology, business, sports, media, entertainment, and non government. “This is the first time that Cape Town has played host to this prestigious event and is further testament to the city’s desirability as a world class business and tourism destination” said Pather.
This event will take place alongside the Global Icons Expotainment Experience, which consists of a 32 day soccer extravaganza, which will incorporate a mix of live viewing areas, parties and various other festivities. On the cards is a hot line up of international DJ’s and music artists such as DJ Steve Sutherland, Dizzee Rascal and Fat Boy Slim.
Pather added that even though these events were taking place in the centre, CTICC will continue to operate as business as usual and that venues are still available for use during the World Cup period. “In keeping with the soccer mania that has gripped the world, all conferences and events hosted at the centre during this period will have a distinct soccer theme” said Pather.
